your rain on my pane —

how easily you show me

what's below my dust

low tide —

all the pieces

I've abandoned

like succulent leaves

I preserve my better self

for worse days to come

late spring jogging —

the midge found its way

into my deadly eye

weeping willow

another lonely soul

touches her old bark

black, no sugar

he says, turning to

his sweetheart

Saturday morning

she talks dirty to him —

the whole list of chores

rainy afternoon —

who builds the most

powerful weapon

A lecturer of English from Slovakia, Denisa Hanšutová has been trying her hand at haiku and senryu since November 2024.
