Sunday morning

no breakfast in bed

said the IKEA staff

clear-cut area

a songbird

in the headphones

autumn day

pickled pearents*

at the care home

* In the original, the term means both “pears” and “parents”. This blend word is my suggestion.

Thursday

flipping through a cook book

until the microwave beeps

spring meadow

a caterpillar transforms

it to a runway

proposal

but she gave me

the wrong finger

personal trainer

I’m getting ripped

off

office window

a web developer

finding a bug

spring cleaning

saving the spiderweb

for Halloween?

used to hear voices

they told me to do crazy things

they ended when I quit my job

mittens

waving to my ex

with one finger

beach bottles

we don’t get

the message

video interview

trying to hide

my background

house party

Titanic conversation

great icebreaker

meditation

finding myself

annoying

cages

always bigger

from the outside

do some need to get the foot*

for others

to get it in

* In Swedish, “getting the foot” is equivalent to “getting the boot”.

first time skiing

I’m head over heels

for a second

park bench

two philosophers sitting

on the edges

learn from the mistakes

of people

you advised

no bad weather

only bad

nudists*

* It parodies a saying that goes “No bad clothes, only bad weather”.

Sunday afternoon

finally finished

doing nothing

catching my breath

after running

my mouth

casual Friday

once again

didn’t include nudity

Birk Andersson lives in Malmö, Sweden and he’s studying to become a gardener. In 2016 he discovered haiku and became obsessed. He does, however, write both traditional haiku and senryu and other types of short poems. He has had 6 books published in Swedish and 1 in English (Anarcho haiku, 2023).

Haiku di Antonio Mangiameli

io e tu, da soli

parole senza senso -

calcinacci

marmo senza nome -

sulla crosta di polvere

un crisantemo

lenzuola bianche

sudore -

fiera di maggio

filo spinato -

sulla mano

l’ombra

la barca

lei lui, poi io -

corallo rosa

sul labbro

il graffio delle labbra -

vento gelido

sul foglio bianco

i segni della gomma -

la mia storia

ancora incontri

per i negoziati di pace -

eclissi solare

io

la mia ombra -

cena per due

nessuno

nemmeno tu -

lino bianco

il sole alto -

l'ombra dell'aquilone

appesa al filo

un uomo solo -

a terra il bastone

e un crisantemo

un juke-box

i fiori del cestrum

l’immondizia

il terremoto -

avvolte nel giornale

le alici fresche*

*Il 12 dicembre 2020 è ricorso il trentennale del sisma che colpí il mio paese, Lentini. Come spesso accade se ne discusse nei giorni subito dopo, poi basta più.

poi niente -

gelsomino

la radio accesa -

stasera a tavola

uno che parla

stella cadente -

la corsa della luce

lunga un attimo

panni al sole -

un gattino in strada

graffia le ombre

trabocca la ciotola

di un mendicante -

notte di pioggia

si rompono le ombre…

si ricompongono -

faro del porto

matrioske…

munizioni -

istruzioni per l’uso

anche oggi

un’altra verità -

la moglie

anche oggi

un'altra verità -

il marito

il mare mosso -

ogni onda porta a riva

la propria ombra

 

 

Antonio Mangiameli, medico di professione, è nato a Lentini (SR). Da molti anni si dedica alla scrittura di haiku, senryū e haibun che archivia trascrivendoli su tela. Suoi componimenti sono stati pubblicati nelle più importanti riviste internazionali. È stato relatore in incontri dedicati e componente di giuria in diversi concorsi e ha tenuto corsi sulla poesia haiku nelle scuole.

laptop's

hibernate mode -

saving a dream

wintering

another visitor

from a memory

cold moon

we finish our popsicles

without talking

my mind

is somewhere else

dying ember

same road

this time

by myself

a parade

of crossdressers

sunshower

still a landmark

the closed 24/7

convenience store

arguing over

what to watch

drama reruns

passport renewal:

the persistent fly

on my PC's screen

noticing

the mall mirror

I try to avoid

emptiness

waking up at night

dreamless

long weekend

we start by

doing nothing

stepping stones

barely making it through

the last contestant

a dull day

pulling out

gray hair

a new year

I barely remember

last week

new calendar

those festivities fall

on weekends...
