Haiku by Bret Wooldridge

snow globe

the barometer drops

at my approach

drop down menu

retelling my side of it

sans serif

cold snap

the puddle

installs a window

dappled sunlight

her red hair turning

on and off

diary

my cheap pen skips

a few details

Serengeti

still half in shadow

the sunlit zebra

gift wrap

the scissors glide

through snow flakes

performance review:

the supervisor misspells

"improvement"

MOMA

the rain in the painting

comes to a stop

Ford theater tour

the mirror John Wilkes Booth

straightened his tie in

unzipping it

night lobby

the escalator

dredging up darkness

glass elevator

we descend with

the snowflakes

so dangerous

it’s locked in a cage

human heart

incessant barking

at the end of the leash

haiku dogma

laundry day

bleach for the clothes

I sinned in

minor key blues

sounding slightly better

slightly out of tune

surrounded by antlers

her forest dream

shudders to an end

Haiku by Denisa Hanšutová

All rights of the texts presented here remain with the author. haikua

your rain on my pane —

how easily you show me

what's below my dust

low tide —

all the pieces

I've abandoned

like succulent leaves

I preserve my better self

for worse days to come

late spring jogging —

the midge found its way

into my deadly eye

weeping willow

another lonely soul

touches her old bark

black, no sugar

he says, turning to

his sweetheart

Saturday morning

she talks dirty to him —

the whole list of chores

rainy afternoon —

who builds the most

powerful weapon
