Haiku by Laura Marino Trotta (Revised by Maurizio Brancaleoni)

All rights of the texts presented here remain with the author. The English translations were provided by the author and revised by me.

the sky darkens

till it’s shut out —

stale bread

November in my bosom —

touching a new silence

of grey silk

autumn’s eyes —

long rainy roads

without a voice

flightless sky —

white notes of silence fall

I cultivate darkness

in the silence of my

vast garden

two lamps lit

in the evening —

the dark all around

silk rags

the memories in the night —

scattered coins

snowy fields —

a knot of silence

blocks my thoughts

flowing water —

the late autumn light

is gentler

wild plants

in the cracks of the walls —

motherless

pitch-coloured sky —

all the light behind

waits for the morning

distorted note —

surrounded by the sun

the empty chair

asphalt night —

voices in the silence

rust and wind

bitter almonds —

the lights under the tree go out

windows lit

on others' lives —

night all around

solo violin —

the wind bends the branches

towards autumn

the wind drops —

in solitude

the last wheat spike

flaxen sky —

I sow yellow primroses

between the wrinkles

winter kiss —

the snow falling slowly

between earth and sky

fallen veils —

sunsets in the eyes

on a grey wall

no more sky —

the heart confused by

asphalt meadows

in the dry grass

crows two by two —

lost memories

now plagued by wordplay

avoid the street yet

now like Issa sweep the step

Little Collins Street

linguists, linguini,

20230624

time stands still and waits

for our awareness to call

Issa at Eastbourne -

oh for the sake of saké

let the mermaids see!

'Imagine'

20230427

slapped down like wet fish

some glisten lie caught complete

some ask with one eye

20230504

Issa's jasmine tea

cools untouched as he withdraws

20230512

watch new life unfurl -

a sense of close remoteness

reaches into us.

'On ferns in Spring'

20230515

Time and man measure

the long shadow of the wind

where the grasses wave

20230514

walk to Seahouses

my inner Issa smells shell

as it becomes sand

20230516

with day's dark decease

beginnings and conclusions

linger in our dreams

20230518

no scat lays a trail

so go out the wrong entrance

get lost hurriedly

'In search of the Engine Room, Tottenham Hale'

20230526

a late night silence

slinks through the world's solitude

paws at weariness

20230603

post midnight quiet -

no early June revellers

are heard rejoicing

woven by Kobayashi

Offertorio

S'eleva ad offertorio

il sole d'alba,

s'insinua nella bocca,

apre la gola a liturgie segrete,

un elogio alla negazione:

un gioco inquietante di volti

mangiati dalla notte, colpiti alle spalle

dalla mia disperata voglia di salvarli.

Muoio ogni giorno su navate incompiute

prendendo la forma di un libro profanato.

Haiku di Nazarena Rampini

Tutti i diritti sui testi presentati sono e restano dell’autrice.

Bianchissime —
adagiate sul muschio
pecorelle rotte

Messa all'aperto —
piccoli sassi bianchi
sugli spartiti

Pioggia invernale —
le spalle luccicanti
di un senzatetto

L'ultimo taglio —
il prato dell'ospizio
profuma di pioggia

Vento d'aprile —
un vecchio col bastone
parla al mio cane

Frati in silenzio —
girano attorno al chiostro
rose d'inverno

Campo di colza —
dipinto a fresco il manto
della Vergine

Pane secco —
un uccellino canta
nella neve

Febbre invernale —
la strega buona del Sud
esce dal libro

La Candelora —
un passero si posa
sul filo spinato

Il sole basso —
riponendo la zappa
il primo grillo

Come un albero
di Natale — pendono
le mele acerbe

Viaggio piovoso —
ogni cosa che vedo
diventa verde

My Pastiche "Buzzard And Sky Reconsidered" in "Lotus Eater" #17

Stoked to have my pastiche/Dada parody "Buzzard and Sky Reconsidered, or the Day of the Last Ominous Omelette" in Issue 17 of the online literary journal “Lotus Eater”.

This is how it begins:

This brief dissertation set out to determine the manifold ways in which a buzzard's glance could be riveted to the welking welkin in the face of increasing levels of hot-air-balloonery but it wound up becoming haruspicy of some sort…ssp

My Music-Themed Haiku / I miei haiku a tema musicale in "Synchronized Chaos"

I’m very glad to report that a quartet of bilingual haiku about music and musicians have found their place in the May issue of “Synchronized Chaos”. Urna Chahar-Tugchi’s supernal voice, the billowing soundscape evoked by piano interpreter Beatrice Rana, a frantic violin sonata by legendary composer Sergey Prokofiev and the feather-like quality of a sign-language translation of sacred chants are the subjects of these music themed short poems.  haikua ssp apsv

My Surrealist Prose Poem "Bu(l)be's Girlfriend" in "EKL"

Amazed to find out that my visionary “one-chapter post-story” “Bu(l)be's Girlfriend” appears in “EKL Review”. The chance encounter of a “lover’s spat colourist and indoor farmer” with a femme fatale soon goes light-bulbish. Panderers, mischievous hair bulbs and sorority friends will do the rest.

Haiku di Silvia Bistocchi

Tutti i diritti sui testi presentati sono e restano dell’autrice.

quel cielo grigio -

la lunghezza del velo su labbra schiuse

tela di ragno -

un gemito di gocce

riempie l’alba

saldi invernali -

pozzanghere di panni nei grandi magazzini

capocchie di spillo -

dal formicaio corpi rossi e neri

caviglie sottili -

lungo il fiume ondeggiano i cipressi

la neve fitta -

lento andirivieni

di un lamento

vette innevate -

dalla parete strappo

l’ultimo poster

un po’ di spesa -

sulle caviglie nude

preme il gelo

morbidi suoni -

nel torrente autunnale

grumi di luce

scende la neve -

un tondo di condensa

sul vetro freddo

un mondo d’ombre -

affiora dallo stagno

l’alba riflessa

vento sferzante -

una coda di nubi

taglia la luna

il frigo vuoto trema nella notte -

convalescenza

dritto negli occhi -

l’eco dei nostri passi

sulla sassaia

sotto la vetta -

la targa scolorita

piena di fango

tosse stizzosa -

un rombo d’aereo

oltre le mura

sala d’attesa -

fra i colpi di tosse un moscerino

grata di ferro -

il calore lontano

d’una stanza celata

vecchi quaderni la primavera dei vent’anni

iridescenza -

un guizzo fulmineo dall’acqua quieta

notte lucente -

le pecore brucano l’erba dei sogni

gelo sottile -

la vernice dell’auto

in grosse falde
